Tàctil starts from a simple, almost radical idea: remembering that music has a body.

A key sinks beneath the fingers. A string vibrates. A hand brushes a membrane. The air moves. The sound comes afterwards.

In his new work, Marco Mezquida turns his attention precisely to that physical instant in which music is born. Tàctil is about skin, contact, gesture and vibration; about everything that happens before sound becomes invisible.

Released in 2026, the project brings the Mallorcan pianist back together with Martín Meléndez on cello and Aleix Tobias on percussion, travelling companions for the past decade who have become something much more interesting than three excellent musicians playing together: an organism breathing as one.

Piano, wood, string, skin, metal. Sometimes delicacy; at others, momentum. Melody, improvisation, rhythms that appear and disappear, echoes of jazz, classical music and the Mediterranean tradition. In this trio, music can be intimate without becoming small, and explosive without losing detail.

Marco Mezquida returns to Alternatilla with one of his most personal and sensory works, accompanied by two musicians with whom he has built a language of their own.

It is not only a matter of listening to Tàctil. It is almost a matter of touching it.
