7:45 pm Lucía Rey Quartet

Lucía Rey is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary jazz from Spain. A pianist and composer, she was recently awarded the Plataforma Jazz España Jazz Award 2026–2027 and nominated for Best Jazz Album by the Spanish Academy of Music for Nómadas, her latest recording, as well as receiving nominations for the +Músicas Awards.

On Nómadas, Lucía develops her own contemporary language, in which jazz engages in dialogue with flamenco, Mediterranean music, Latin jazz and the classical tradition, in an open, personal proposal full of nuance. The album features renowned musicians such as Jorge Pardo and Juan Carlos Aracil.

She studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid, the Higher Institute of Arts of Cuba, Brooklyn Conservatory and The Collective in New York, and has worked alongside masters such as Barry Harris, Noah Haidu and Bruce Barth.

Her music has been performed at renowned international venues and festivals including Jazz à Vienne, Jazz Plaza, Jazzahead, Jazzaldia, Stuttgart Latin Jazz Festival, Jazz in the Park, Buenos Aires Jazz Festival and numerous jazz festivals in Spain, Europe and Latin America.

8:30 pm Fábio Leandro

After two decades working with various artists from São Paulo’s alternative and instrumental music scene, pianist Fábio Leandro is embarking on his solo career.

In this new phase, the pianist seeks to revive songs from the Brazilian songbook and adapt them for piano, using techniques and languages characteristic of 20th-century music.

This work is the result of in-depth research into various aspects and languages of Brazilian music.

The repertoire includes composers such as Zé Keti, Edu Lobo, Johnny Alf, Nelson Cavaquinho, Milton Nascimento and Tom Jobim, as well as original compositions.
