A View from the Bridge

Auditori de Manacor, Passeig del Ferrocarril / Carrer de Tarragona, 07500 Manacor, Balearic Islands

Sílvia Munt directs this classic by Arthur Miller, a writer who dissects the pathological core of human beings and shows how love can turn into possession and desire into violence. A sharply relevant play that reveals what lies beneath the obvious and calls into question the power structures that still shape our relationships today.

A View from the Bridge portrays an immigrant community governed by honour, loyalty and silence. Eddie Carbone, an Italian-born labourer, lives with his wife and niece, whom he loves with an intensity he neither knows how to acknowledge nor wants to recognise. The arrival of some undocumented relatives brings a hidden desire to the surface, becoming the catalyst for tragedy.
