SALVADOR SOBRAL — A Flor do Recomeço

Auditorium Palma — Sala Magna, Av. Gabriel Roca, 18, 07014 Palma, Illes Balears

Acclaimed Portuguese singer and Eurovision winner Salvador Sobral presents his first album featuring exclusively Brazilian compositions. Entitled «A Flor do Recomeço» (The Flower of Rebeginning), the album was recorded in São Paulo and produced by Brazilian Grammy winners Marcus Preto and Tó Brandileone. Its release is scheduled for the second half of the year.

The album includes a stellar selection of previously unreleased songs written especially for Sobral by renowned artists such as Adriana Calcanhotto, Arnaldo Antunes, Chico César, Céu, Marcelo Camelo, Mallu Magalhães, Marcos Valle and Tim Bernardes. The title comes from a poem by writer Eveline Sin, with music by Chico César.

For Sobral, this project represents a deeply personal journey back to his musical roots.

Accompanied by a band of top-level Brazilian musicians, Sobral stresses that the aim was authenticity rather than imitation.

After an intense period of rehearsals and recording in Brazil, Sobral describes the finished work as a sound «coherent in its entirety, doing justice to each unique composition».
