The lion Mufasa rules all the animals as their king together with his wife, Sarabi. The birth of their son and heir, Simba, arouses resentment in Mufasa’s brother, Scar, who longs to become the new lion king.

Time passes, and the cub is taught by his father about the responsibilities he will have when he becomes the new sovereign. Meanwhile, Scar, together with the hyenas, devises a sinister plan to get rid of his family and seize the throne.

After causing Mufasa’s death, he tricks Simba into leaving the kingdom. After his escape, Simba is rescued by Timon and Pumbaa, who protect him until he becomes an adult lion.

One day, fate crosses Simba’s path once again, leading him to return home and reclaim the throne Scar has taken from him.
