- Alba Manzanero
Title: Y es que ya no
Duration: 17 min
Music: Javier Villegas and Jarich Adamson
Synopsis: What does it mean to feel when you can no longer feel anything? When you have lost yourself?
When you understand nothing? When you have no answers and get nowhere? Nothing is complete and everything is frustrating.
“Y es que ya no está” is a contemporary dance piece that begins with an absent gaze, where the individual and their universe remain distant from the world. This individual is in a kind of pause; absence inhabits their body, and they appear trapped in their own stillness, suspended in time and in a state of numbness.
@alba.manzanero is an emerging dancer and creator, graduated in contemporary dance from the Fontys Academy of the Arts. Her career combines performance and her own creative work.
Alba has undertaken an IBJove-funded residency at @laimpossibledansa, @cia_mariantoniaoliver, where she has worked on her piece: a contemporary dance solo exploring a body disconnected from the world, suspended in time, marked by absence and by the constant attempt to move forward.

Marie-Josephine is a dancer and movement artist. Following a career in high-level artistic and aerobic gymnastics, she now focuses her practice on contemporary dance, improvisation, floorwork and contact, also incorporating elements of breaking and hip-hop.
She is currently at EiMa on a creative residency, working on “El Mapa”, a contemporary dance solo exploring orientation amid uncertainty. The piece moves between control and surrender, between feeling lost and learning to trust. It proposes listening to the body as a guide when we do not know where we are going.

Music:
Synopsis: The piece explores oppression through the body, moving between control and restraint until reaching liberation. Because what was, for centuries, crying is today a call.

She received an IBJove grant for a creative residency at @eimacreacio, focusing on women who were historically denied a voice, and on the bodies and emotions that were silenced, controlled or labelled as “hysteria”.
