We didn’t have TikTok; among other things, our idea of fun was throwing stones at each other, and if you cracked a friend’s head open, you’d say: ‘What a great afternoon I’ve had.’ And best of all, we communicated using a plastic cup and a piece of string—and sometimes the signal dropped, just imagine…

And mothers? They hadn’t earned their place in heaven; they had heaven in their name. Every morning, my mother would get up, look at the sky and say: ‘Lord, take me soon.’ And she’s still here. She would have traded me for the boy from The Exorcist; she was more afraid of me than a fat man is of a plastic chair.

As kids say nowadays: ‘Come see me, bro, this show is worth it and you’re going to have a blast…’
