EDUARDO GUERRERO – “THE MANTLE AND ITS EYE” — Auditorium - Air Europa Dance Series 2027
- Palma

Auditorium Palma — Sala Magna, Av. Gabriel Roca, 18, 07014 Palma, Balearic Islands
The Mantle and Its Eye arises from the urgent desire to dance and sing the paradigms that run through our time: social, ethical, aesthetic, political and existential. Drawing on the thought of MarĂa Zambrano, particularly her defence of dreams, inner life and poetic reason, this work stands as a sensitive response to a hyper-visible world governed by technological artifice.
In an era in which life has become a spectacle for consumption, where desire has been hijacked by algorithms and attention by screens, the dream —as a sacred, mysterious and organic space— emerges in this piece as a place of resistance and regeneration. On stage, Eduardo Guerrero surrenders to rest, and from that surrender emerges a symbolic, dreamlike and profoundly human dramaturgy, in which the body dances what words cannot manage to say.
The Cobijadas of Vejer, with their mantle and hidden eye, become an emblem of a protected inner life: women who take refuge in the shadows not to disappear, but to preserve what is most vital. In this light, the performance proposes a choreography of the invisible, where light is no longer surveillance but a loving gaze that enters the heart and mind —dark, fragile and essential territories.
The Mantle and Its Eye is a flamenco allegory about the urgent need to feel again, to lose oneself, to be filled with wonder. An invitation to inhabit the night and dream of the impossible as the only way to keep the human flame alive.
