We all know the princesses from children’s fairy tales. Always beautiful, cheerful and kind. And, of course… They can all sing. But do we know these princesses’ lives? Do we know what their own fairy tales meant for them? What became of them?

The other side of “and they lived happily ever after”. Don’t Touch My Fairy Tale shows us how four princesses rebel and demand that the other side of the story be told. The part that is left out because, after all, it is not as beautiful as they say…

We’re fed up with being princesses, perfect, and happy ever after!

Don’t Touch My Fairy Tale is a cheeky, socially conscious musical comedy that presents a realistic version of four classic fairy-tale princesses (Snow White, Cinderella, Belle and Aurora) who, after their “happily ever after”, get together to complain, laugh and cry about the pain, traumas and insecurities that were never told. Written and directed by Olivia Lara, the play seeks to free these women from their idealised roles and show their more human, real side, interacting with the audience and breaking the fourth wall.
