Is something rotten in Denmark? Or is it simply that time passes and hopes slowly fade away?

An elderly woman and her adult son struggle to get by in a run-down apartment in the heart of Copenhagen. Day after day, they feel they are at risk of drowning in a bitterness that is as rebellious as it is soothing. But suddenly, one winter afternoon, they will be besieged by ghosts from the past, by old tragedies that will unsettle and transform them.
