Teatre Principal d'Inca — Main Hall, Carrer del Teatre, 10, 07300 Inca, Balearic Islands

One of the most performed works of contemporary theatre in Spain and internationally

The Menorcan company Xàfec Teatre brings Al magatzem to the stage, one of the most acclaimed works in contemporary theatre by David Desola, an author who has built a solid career in both playwriting and audiovisual screenwriting, with titles that have achieved international recognition.

Originally written as Almacenados (2003), the play is part of a body of work that has circulated widely on stages across Europe and Latin America, becoming one of its author's most frequently programmed works. Its success lies in its ability to start from a minimal situation and turn it into a universal reflection on work, identity and the meaning of existence in contexts that appear devoid of meaning.

The text remains as relevant as ever because it addresses an essential contemporary experience: working life as a space of inertia and repetition, but also of existential questioning.

Synopsis

A veteran worker who has spent his entire life in a warehouse is preparing for retirement. The arrival of a young replacement creates a space of coexistence between two generations who share not only a workplace, but two radically different ways of understanding the world.

As their time together progresses, the warehouse becomes a symbolic space where fundamental questions emerge about usefulness, routine and the meaning of work.
